Ringa Hora and the established Working Groups have spent 2024 reviewing the New Zealand Certificates and Diplomas in Business. These qualifications have been separated into workstreams and will be available to provide feedback on until 26 March 2025.

  • New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 5) – Management strand (120 credits) Ref: 2459 
  • New Zealand Diploma in Business (Level 6) – Management strand (120 credits) Ref: 2460

Extent of change / updates?  Te Manu Arataki confirmed the need to separate Leadership from Management. Refer to Te Manu Arataki project for insights on the focus of leadership moving forward. 

 

 

Marketing and Sales is currently a combined discipline within the Diplomas. Marketing experts in the working group have determined Marketing specific requirements.

Stakeholders have been gathered to scope out options for needs of Maori Business and Management. The Level 6 stand in the Diploma is the highest vocational level Ringa Hora looks after. The other vocational levels fall within the scope of the Māori Qualifications Services. 

Scope 

 

Extent of change / updates?  Recommend discontinuing due to: 

  • No completions 
  • No programmes leading towards this strand 
  • The current strand is not relevant or fit for purpose for Pakihi Māori 
  • Enhance Mātauranga Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi across the full suite of business products 
  • Explore more suitable opportunities that is relevant and fit for purpose 
  • Refer to Regional Insights on the feedback gathered on what could be explored

The Business review will include reviewing current unit standards under the following subfields to develop skill standards and any micro-credentials as needed.
