Review of Tourism qualification – New Zealand Certificate in Tour Guiding (Level 4)

Ringa Hora Services Workforce Development Council has commenced the review of the New Zealand Certificate in Tour Guiding (Level 4) [2203].   

The review panel met on 31 January 2024 to discuss the review and training needs of the sector, and considered whether the current qualification is fit for purpose, or if some other credential may be more relevant.  

The review panel consisted of industry users, training providers, and industry association members. They will meet again on 9th April and 15th April 2024 and will be: 

• considering any feedback received  
• confirming whether the qualification remains fit for purpose or should be expired  
• considering development of potential new skill standards and/or micro-credential/s
