Business networking opportunity at South Island hui

South Island service sector businesses are invited to shape the future of their workforce at a series of events in early November.

Ringa Hora is holding networking events in Christchurch and Dunedin, and will meet business community members in Invercargill, discussing ways to ensure service sector credentials are fit for purpose.

Business people who attend will get a chance to:

  • Network with local educators and other community business leaders
  • Share the skills their current and future workers need
  • Highlight career pathways opportunities
  • Input into the business and leadership qualifications and standards
  • Learn more about Future of Service Skills products, which provide graduates with generic service skills applicable at all workplaces.

The event gives businesses a chance to tell us what skills they want their future employees to have as we review business qualifications and standards, and how the business credentials can be delivered in their regions can reflect this to ensure their future staffing needs are met.

Given how leadership is fundamentally important to a successful business, we also want to hear the view of business leaders on how leadership and management credentials can best build future leaders. As part of our Te Manu Arataki Leadership project we have drafted new leadership qualifications and amended some others, and we would like some feedback from South Island businesses on whether these meet your industry needs.

The Future of Service Skills qualifications, standards, and micro-credential have been developed and are available for education providers. More details about these will be presented.

The first two events will be held at Ara Institute of Canterbury in Christchurch (4 November) and Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin (5 November).

Numbers are limited, so please register below.
