A series of workshops to help educators to best assess Service sector vocational education ākonga/learners are being staged as part of the Ringa Hora National External Quality Assurance Plan for 2025.
The newly-released plan sets out some of the features of Ringa Hora quality assurance functions for Service sector vocational education in the next year.
The aims are to ensure ākonga have obtained the required skills when they are awarded a credential, that assessment materials for the credentials are fit for purpose, and that assessment decisions are fair, valid, and consistent nationally.
The main new features of the plan for 2025 are the assessor/teacher workshops.
“The workshops will be an opportunity for assessors /teachers to upskill and connect with colleagues in their regions,” the plan says.
“We will share inspiring tips and tricks to bring the best out of your learners, share our transformational approach to quality assurance, and provide an opportunity to ask those questions you’ve always wanted to ask.”
Workshops will be scheduled through the year and information about them will be posted on the Ringa Hora website.
Following on from a number of successful site visits in 2024, the Ringa Hora Quality Assurance team plans to continue visits in 2025. The initial focus of site visits will be on the hospitality industry, but other visits are likely to be arranged along with online hui.
Initial visits are an opportunity to:
- meet Ringa Hora kaimahi and learn more about the mahi we do
- showcase your business so Ringa Hora can understand your day-to-day activities
- explore what good Quality Assurance could look like in a transformational environment.
