Industry members and providers in the hospitality sector are being asked for feedback on changes proposed by working groups to Level 3-5 Cookery qualifications.
The qualifications were among those reviewed by Ringa Hora following the reset made to the Culinary Koha project earlier this year.
The amendments to the existing qualifications include:
- Some language changes to reflect the current culinary environment
- Minor amendments to reflect NZQA requirements
- An updating of Graduate Profile Outcomes (GPOs) to better express what the graduate will be able to be, do and know
- A title change to the Level 5 qualification, along with a change to 60 credits each for the core and strands.
More details on the proposals can be found on the Ringa Hora cookery qualifications consultation page.
Work on the development of skill standards to support the reviewed qualifications is still underway.
Feedback should be sent to [email protected] by 24 January 2025.
We look forward to hearing your views so we can finalise the proposed changes and submit the reviewed qualifications to NZQA for Quality Assurance.
