Views sought on draft business events qualification

A new pathway for people aspiring to join the burgeoning business events industry is on the way in the form of a new qualification.

Ringa Hora Services Workforce Development Council, educators, and industry representatives have developed a draft Level 4 Business Events qualification, along with associated new skill standards. They now seek input from industry experts on how well it meets workforce needs.

The qualification aims to equip the business events industry with individuals who can professionally contribute to planning, project management, and delivery of business events in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Development of the qualification began following consultation with Business Events Industry Aotearoa and other industry representatives. It has been designed with the goal of helping produce a skilled and talented workforce for the business events sector.

Feedback is welcomed from industry representatives, education institutions and prospective learners about how well the skills, knowledge and attributes specified in the credentials reflect what is required for an emerging business events professional.

More information can be found on the consultation page, including details on the draft credentials and how to provide feedback. Feedback closes on 4 August.
