Building Inclusive Workplaces: New Micro-credential in development

Inclusive HR Practice for Disabled/Tāngata Whaikaha – Micro-credential 

Ringa Hora, in partnership with the New Zealand Disability Employers’ Network (NZDEN), is developing a new Level 5 micro-credential to build workforce capability in inclusive employment practices for disabled peoples/tāngata whaikaha. 

Why this micro-credential matters 

Across Aotearoa, disabled peoples/tāngata whaikaha face persistent barriers to employment. This micro-credential responds to strategic priorities set by Whaikaha – Ministry of Disabled People, and supports the development of a culturally responsive, disability-confident workforce.

What this micro-credential could look like

  • Title: Inclusive HR Practice for Disabled and Tāngata Whaikaha
  • Level: NZQF Level 5
  • Credits: 20
  • Length: ~200 hours of learning and assessment
  • Entry requirements: Open
  • Delivery: Online, in-person, or blended
  • Assessment: Portfolio, quizzes, and workplace/simulated tasks
  • Stackable: Can contribute to NZ Diploma in Business (Level 5) and other qualifications.
