Building Inclusive Workplaces: New Micro-credential in development

Calling all DEI and HRM professionals

Ringa Hora, in partnership with the New Zealand Disability Employers’ Network (NZDEN), is developing a new micro-credential to equip Human Resource Management (HRM) advisors and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) specialists with the tools to drive change and create truly inclusive workplaces—starting with accessible and disability-friendly recruitment practices.

Why this project matters

Across Aotearoa, well-intentioned organisations want to better support disabled employees—but often lack the practical tools and training to do so. NZDEN has highlighted a significant gap in current professional development offerings for HRM and DEI practitioners.

Get involved: Join a Working Group

We are now seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to form a Working Group of passionate, experienced individuals to co-design this micro-credential.

Who we’re looking for:

  • HR professionals and DEI leaders
  • Business owners and managers
  • Iwi, Māori and Pacific organisations
  • Not-for-profits, government agencies, and training providers
  • Disabled people and community advocates

Your insights are crucial to ensuring this qualification is practical, inclusive, and future-focused.
