Ringa Hora takes responsibility for developing and maintaining a robust, local, fit for purpose and efficient qualifications and unit standards for the Real Estate profession to contribute to the long-term success of the real estate industry. Ringa Hora will work closely with people from the real estate industry to better understand their needs, both now and into the future to ensure a qualification suite that is fit for purpose and supports a career pathway in real estate.

Qualifications

2025 Review of Real Estate qualifications  

Qualifications listed on the NZQCF are being reviewed during 2025:  

  • New Zealand Certificate in Real Estate (Salesperson) (Level 4) (50 credits) Ref: 3111 
    • New Zealand Certificate in Residential Property Management (Level 4) (65 credits) Ref: 1809 

The purpose of the review is to ensure that the qualifications are and continue to be useful and relevant to the sector.   

Participation 

We invite expressions of interest in participating in this development, either as a member of the Review panel or as part of the supporting E-mail network. We are also inviting comments and suggestions that might inform the review. 

 

In-person meeting  

Collectively, the panel will as far as possible be representative of all interested groups. Panellists will also be part of the email network.  

Consultation will appear over two separate days at Jet Park Hotel in Auckland. The following dates are:  

  • 11 February 2025 will host the review of Salesperson [Ref:3111].  
  • 12 February 2025 will host the review of Residential Property Management [Ref:1809]. 
  • Review of standards and development of skill standards will start towards the second half of 2025. Expressions of interest will be called for at a later stage.

2022 Review of 31 Real Estate unit standards

2022 Extension to the Last Date of Assessment

NZQA have approved an extension to the Last Date of Assessment (LDA) for superseding versions to 31 December 2023 for unit standards in the following Real Estate domains:

  • Real Estate Practice and Law unit (x11 unit standards)
  • Rural, Residential, Commercial and Business Sales (x2 unit standards)
