Proposal to expire Organisational Risk and Compliance qualifications

In 2013, Skills Organisation received approval to develop the New Zealand Certificate in Organisational Risk and Compliance (Level 4) and New Zealand Diploma in Organisational Risk and Compliance (Level 6) qualifications. The review date for both qualifications was set for December 2018.

A qualification review in 2018 revealed that these qualifications were not awarded since they were listed on the NZQA Framework in 2015. Skills established a Working Review Group comprised of risk and/or compliance management subject-matter-experts from the Organisational Risk and Compliance Sector and it was agreed that the sector will support the continued need for the qualifications. The Working Group reviewed and developed new versions of the qualifications in 2018 which became the New Zealand Certificate in Organisational Risk and Compliance (Level 4) and New Zealand Certificate in Organisational Risk and Compliance (Level 6). The changes can be seen here

In 2021, Qualification Developer responsibilities for the New Zealand Certificate in Organisational Risk and Compliance (Level 4) and New Zealand Certificate in Organisational Risk and Compliance (Level 6) was transferred to Ringa Hora Workforce Development Council on its establishment in October 2021 from Skills Organisation.

A qualification review in 2024 revealed that these qualifications were not awarded since the new changes were made in 2018. Ringa Hora Services Workforce Development Council published information for an Expression of Interest on their website in December 2023 with a due date of January 15, however, there were no interests.

A decision has been made by Ringa Hora Services Workforce Development Council to expire the qualification. An application will be made to NZQA and more information will be available soon.
